Facebook is basically some you're "friends" can keep upto date with your contact information, ie mobile number, email addy etc. You can also share pictures with all of your friends within "albums". there's basically one page for everyone, like myspace, but it's not as customisable as myspace, but there is a lot more applications anyone can add. In theory you could be reading a page forever, if applications were kept being added daily.
Myspace is better IMO, but there is a blog application on there somewhere. Unfortunatly more people are abandoning myspace for some reason to goto facebook.

I disagree :P
A lot of people try and make their pages really fancy with hideous backgrounds on myspace and therefore the pages take ages to load (and also if they have the music player thing on the page its annoying if you're already listening to stuff on the pc) and it's difficult to read.
Facebook is the way forward 8)
(Having said the i'm a uni student so i guess i would lol)

Get a Hotmail account - it accepted mine quite happily!
In my limited experience Myspace seems to attract a younger crowd (and a fair number of chavs). Facebook seems to be more popular with thirtysomethings. It's a pleasant change not to be considered ancient at 24!
