Red Arrows Banned From 2012 London Olympics

lambert:
I think if i were section commander for the red arrows i'd have a 'training' flight happen to pass over the opening ceremony just out of badness

SteveGoodz:
Signed. I'm getting really fed up with the way our so-called leaders continually defer to other races and nations at the expense of the people who elect them and pay their (vastly overheated) salaries and pensions.

Wolfie:
Have they?

Anyone got any documentary evidence that this has happened?

I have looked about and can't find anything on either the Red Arrows or 2012 Olympics websites. In fact the only thing that I can find that is in any way an official comment on this is at http://the2008olympics.blogspot.com/2007/09/red-arrows-banned.html

--- Quote ---The Red Arrows spokesman Rachel Huxford said:

"We have had no discussions about the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics whatsoever.

We are still planning our 2008 season at this stage and that is a long way off. We understand that no decision has yet been made about the ceremony.

We performed when London won its Olympic bid in 2005 after we received a standard request from the Olympic organisers."

Thrasher:
Hmmm considering junk (amusing junk however) like this can be found on that site ... http://www.petition.co.uk/hamland

I'm wondering about the validity of it all too ....

Lord Shagg-Pyle:
Perhaps they should do a complete turn round and get the Battle of Britain flight to fly over aswell, get HMS Ark Royal to sail up the Thames and get the Red Devils Parachute Display Team to drop in, just to get up the noses of all our European partners!
What will be the alternative?
A display of bending over backwards and sticking their heads up their own arses by the 1938 Munich Appeasement Re-enactment Society?
A formation ''running away while waving white flags' by the French Military?
A 'Lets sit down and have a peace humming sit in' by the All States Hippy Relay Team?
