What supposed to be so difficult about repairing a 300 tdi over a 200 tdi?? there's nothing i wouldn't do on mine i can do a Head change in about 2hrs i have no electric rubbish no egr and it's more powerful than a 200 i can have a decent alternator without chewing belts up oh and regarding mileage mine's done about 140,000 doesn't use any water or oil between oil changes doesn't leak oil other than a slight weep from the rear main (who's doesn't???) and start's on the button without glow plugs...But hey ho whatever.. :D

Tommo:
its not the difficulty of working on it (although the turbo is a little gay) its the fact that there are piles of spares kicking about at the moment mainly from disco's.

the 200's also seem a little more resistant to damage through overheating etc although i have no idea why.

got one sat in the shed, but havent really been out anywhere to have a good thrashing of the transmission. hmm...what cruising speed do you get with the disco box??

mroxo:
I can sit happily at 70 to 75 which is enuf for me and ive got 33s on. You will notice that you have to build up 4th to around 60 befor going to fifth but I find it very good and it brings the engine revs down to a sensible level. I can even hear the radio! Obviously I am using more fuel than standard but thats the tyres. 1 day i will try it with a set of 205s on to see how much cheaper it will be. Make sure you have your weetabix before the fitting coz those tboxes are f heavy!

Rasbo:
sounds good, am i right in thinking that low range wont be affected???
