Grand Vitara tyres

Can someone please advise what the largest size tyres can be fitted to an '03 Grand Vitara without any lift?

A work mate has just bought one and wants to put more agressive tyres on it and maybe go up a size from the 215/65 16 that are cureently fitted.

It's got steel wheels if that make any difference.

my fither in law would like to know if 235/70/16 would fit on an 3 door 04 plated grand vitara with no other mods (its staying standard)

its on 235/60/16 the now does look like theres anuf room but not sure on full articulation and lock if it rub. :?

could someone please clarify wether they would be ok thanks

I have heard of people fitting 235/70R16 with a standard vehicle. BUT when i had my 300tdi people would always tell me you could get larger tyres on that, whan i changed to MT's the same size they rubbed....
