wrecker:
hay mate,
me and my dad done what you wanted to do and all we had to do is drill 4 holes for the prongs and at the back make the hole bigger as the back of the light is bigger,
we done no welding at all and didnt have to touch the body work :D
hope this helps at all :D

Dont suppose you have a picture of this do you ???
And did you use the plastic clips with said prongs or change them for nuts ???
Also as far as the exchange goes you also need the hockey sticks and the grill off said 300 too and have been told you need to make up some brackets for indicators too I have the bits to do this but havent plucked up the courage yet
Tyke:
Sod all that . . . . just fit high output bulbs and a couple of decent spots . . . . or buy a 300 Tdi . . . . . probably cheaper and better in the long run anyway
chris9119:
If your lights are dimm....., replace lamps with higher wattage and switch them through a relay and not the stalk switch...., they are defo brighter that way

I prefer the look of the 300 front end to mine not just about the brightness
