air bags on a jimny

hi ive bought a jimny for on road and some off road green lanes and stuff maybe the odd mud day aswell
and i wondered if the air bags would be ok and if they would go off at all when im off roading?????

I've been off roading mine for 3yrs now and had some realy hairy moments includind bouncing down a hill out of control which resulted in a sudden stop, and so far not had any probs. If your realy worried remove the fuse for the air bags, and refit it when your done playing. The manuel warns this could accidently set off the air bags, but I think you'd be very unlucky for this to happen. The cautious method is to diconnect the battery and leave it for at least 5mins? before tampering with the fuse.

no trouble with mine either & thats with 4yrs total abuse

plus the wife driving it into a tree  :oops:


why airbags on a jimny they don't go fast enough   well mine don't  :shock:  :lol:  :lol:

My discover had twin airbags and they never set off. I smashed the front up pretty bad and they never went off.

From speaking to people in the know they say that by the time they have gone off you will be glad they have!
