sharp edgies failing MOT?????
disco-v8:
ok simple little question, as a lot will no im getting my truck ready for an MOT but last time it went for one it was in standard form, and since then alot has changed....
just want to no if it ok to have:-
roller fairlead
swivle recovery eyes (the 1's that shackles go through)
shackles
winch cable/ winch hook
all sticking out at the front, cuz in my eyes these are very hard pointy items which could do alot of harm to someone, but then again so would a standard bumper
muddyman:
Had a winch on my Disco this year and had no probs, and was on my old Range Rover and agin no probs, with the sticky out roller fairleads/and winch hook.
Lincs niva:
Had a winch on my niva aswell as recovery eye's two mot's ago passed no prob's.Taken the winch off now though..

You should be fine with those.
If you have sharp edges on the outside you will fail e.g. if you run a cloth over it & it snags it too sharp.
You can put some gaffer tape over non structural sharp edges to get through MOT 8)
