Anyone near liverpool any good with v8s?

Went to truckfest today at haydock, was a damn good day out.  Anyway, I was noseying round the display by merseyside fire station museum and in particular this thing



I got talking to one of the chaps and he was saying he has been struggling to get it running right.  He is pretty sure its a carb setup problem but doesnt know what hes doing.  Neither do I!  

Anyone fancy volunteering to help a good cause?
