the reason I bought so many subarus and watched the WRC
if it is him and if it is his son then I feel for the rest of his family and my heart goes out to them

I have never followed his career, but condolences to the family, lets just hope that somehow the papers have got it wrong :(

I can't belive what I've just read! I spent hours stood out on the RAC which it was then watching Richard Burns and Colin McCrae in action, I even managed to wangle me way in to a subaru service area once and actually spoke to Colin, he was one of the drivers that appreciated how close rallyng got to real people, it made my day being only 10 or 11!. I even picked up 3 detentions in 1995 when he won the world championship as I had Radio 5 on every lesson listening to stage reports.
Thoughts are with his wife and daughter, and other family.
