4 landies:
TD5 disco wouldnt start today when i went to it.

fuel getting through to engine bay but not sure how to check if through to engine.

dont own a manual so all guess work, any ideas on what the problem may be would be greatfully accepted.

freelanderpx54:
A few more details might help   Will it turn over? Is is turning over slowly or usual speed? Diesel or Petrol?

Is there plenty of fuel in the tank? Mine gets a bit fickle when the fuel level gets low.

Cheers
John

4 landies:
turns over as normal just not kicking up. vehicle is a deisel.

Did fail to start once before on a garage forcourt but after several turns of the key it started and once it ran lumpy while in traffic but cleared after several seconds. all this has happened in the last month.

Jimbo:
High pressure side of the fuel pump (the pump is in the tank, accessed through a round hatch in the boot floor), may be giving up - when you switch the ignition on to position2, can you hear the pump whine ?

Immobiliser - they can play silly-beggars. Try locking and unlocking (using the remote). Mine has done this a few times - normally when parked near to big VW 4x4's  :?

Is it an auto 'box - the start inhibitor switch might be playing up. The switch only lets the vehicle start when in 'park' or 'neutral'

4 landies:
Pump does make a sick whining noise now you mention it but seem to be getting fuel through to the engine bay.

 Will try the immobilizer though.

 Cheers Col
