Homemade disco snorkle Anyone done it?

The one discostu made on there looks the business.......has got me thinking about hacking my bodywork about a bit and making one. Now the 'box is finally back in.....Wil put the interior back together before taking further action methinks!!!

I had one made for my 300tdi for my Iceland trip. Don't like Safari ones and Mantec were too expensive. Including buying the mushroom top it came in at under £100.... Raised axle breathers into air box too!

Having fitted a snorkel, anyone notice any differences in performance at all, my disco is no rocket ship at the best of times, hope it wont be any more asthmatic if I do do a homebuild jobby?
Going to hopefully do it at some point either at the end of this week or beginning of next week, idea is currently to try and keep as clean airflow as possible, so going to try and use only two bits of piping one flexible bit to go airbox- nearly the bulkhead, one piece of straight pipe up the side of the windscreen............
