CLUTCH PROBLEMS>>>>HELP
pas:
Hi all
I hoping someone can help as i'm out of ideas
I recently had the engine out of my disco to fix some oil seals and when I put it back in I had no clutch so I did the following
1) bled the hydraulics ...no change
2) changed the slave cylinder.... no change
3) took the engine out to check the fork and bearing were in the right place....they were
4) changed the master cylinder and bled it again...slight improvment but not enough to put it in gear
5) the rubber part of the hose seems to be ok with no bulging when pressing the clutch
I have bled it using an easi bleed kit and by the 2 man method
so any more ideas as i'm all out
Ta
Paul
Disco-Ron:
Did you remove the clutch plate and cover when you did the oil seals...?????? if you did, you may have put the plate back in round tha wrong way!!
paul and sam:
it could be the master cylinder same as the problem we had on ours
Les Henson:
Clamp the flexi pipe and try the pedal. If it's solid, then the master is fine. Common mistakes are putting the slave on upside down (the bleed nipple has to be at the highest point. If you had put the plate on the wrong way round you would have [!Expletive Deleted!] it as soon as you tightened the cover bolts. You would have a decent pedal, but the clutch wouldn't work and you would instantly know you have got something wrong.
