headlight beam angle

(1/2) > >>

disco-v8:
ok im trying to get my truck ready for an mot, and 1 thing thats worrying me is the headlight beam!!!!!

well 1 year ago it passed the MOT with flying colours and since then i have not adjusted the headlight beam..... BUT!!!!!!  since then i have lifted my truck by 3inchs and plus the tyres are larger and give it another 2 inch lift.....

so basicaly the beam is point in the same direction but im sure it might be too high as i can see in other peoples cars when i drive behind them, and they put there fog light on to tell me 2 turn my main beam off, BUT I HAVENT GOT MAIN BEAM ON!!!!!

ok so is this still ok or am i going have to adjust them????? i no how to adjust them but wots the best way of me to tell how far to adjust them????

Hightower:
Mine is lifted 2" and I never adjusted mine.  I believe that it's the angle of the beam that counts, not the height, but I could be wrong . . . . .

Guardian.:
THINK! its the angle, as my 90 thats 6inches taller passes and the lights have never been touched, plus disco is 4 inch taller and also never been moved, but always passes the light test.

Ralph:
the height makes no difference at all as they raise the machine to match height of lamps then test beam pattern you should have no problems at all.

Thrasher:
Never had an issue with my lifted vehicle. And just as an experiment I went out, turned on the lights of the RR and raised it 2" .. headlights did not auto re-adjust as you'd expect. Turning wheel left and right makes them swivel left and right so they are working ....
