Well started by takijng of the rear prop and the big nut was loose so i tightened it up well good .The leak has stopped but still got that dam noise and there was no movment on the bearing

Sorry to crash in but pathetically excited to have completed the job Sunday.

Brake drum only had one M8 screw which had to be drilled out.  The whole assembly was dripping with oil - shoes a complete write off, but I'd bought new just in case....

No dust cover on the bearing assembly either (bearing was fine so didn;t need to dismantle any further) - obviously the BMW assembly costs were being pared in 2000??  Getting the c-clip into the groove of the pin on the hand-brake operating lever was a laugh - not.  Replaced the cable while it was all out, and found that adjusting was only possible with the middle seat access panel out in the cab.  Mind you, got the adjustment better than any garage has before.
