Bike rack on Landy

(1/5) > >>

Fergy:
I wonder if I could dip into your fountain of knowledge? I need to carry 3 bikes on my disco as daughter now wants to come cycling with dog, Wife and I(no! the dog doesn't cycle, it run along side! :to:   ). Most rear wheel mounted racks are 2 bike and I need to open rear door for dog so any hitch mounts would have to be easily moved. Have any of you any recommendations or advice? :?:

Thanks, Fergy

Niel:
Pendle, get the Defender one (greater offset) and space it out a couple of inches should be able to get past OK, pull the pin and it comes off anyway.

jjsaul:
ive seen roof mounted ones but it depends if you're feeling energetic enough to lift 3 bikes onto a disco roof!

i've got one of the rear ones that mounts on a dixon bate slider for my rangie but it does mean you cant open the bottom tailgate with it fitted...

Fergy:
I'd be ok (6'4") but wife is only a little un (5'4") so roof is out

Bush Tucker Man:
Don't forget spare-mounted racks put extra strain on the hinges & door-frame (especially as the weights quite far out)

I believe some of the tow-bar mounted ones will 'swing-away' try someone like Pendle Engineering (if that's their correct name??)
