I once took my wife to the pub for dinner there were a crowd of guy's letting off steam in the corner and I asked the landlord if there was a place we could go which didn't involve listening to foul naughty rude and obscene words. He reminded me they are all found in the oxford dictionary.
He told me that If I didn't feel comfortable to leave co's he'd have to shut the bar due to loss of customers in his hotel if he banned exeryone using wee naughty words.
I walk down any high street at dinner time and can honestly say that the language is deplorable every second word is very very very naughty indeed and the ones using it are very naughty school children.
Turn on the telly and There's wee bleep noises on before 9pm then after it's naughty word time again.

Even the wee boy in neighbours used the word Flikin. Which was a way of deleting a very naughty word.

Stop watching tv with beeps at dinner time and get the family round the table for dinner to discuss the days schooling activities. No more of this eating dinner in front of the tv listening to beeps.

Jamin:
Unfortunately its called evolution of language.
Without which we would be speaking a very different tongue.
Its only since the dictionary was formed and the standardisation of the English language that these things have begun to bee seen as wrong.
Words become commonly used and they lose there significance as being offensive (with some exceptions), you would have been stoned to death a few hundred years ago for blasphemy. Now you can shout "Jesus" on receipt of your mechanics bill without a second thought.
Some start off as being common language and gradually become offensive. Apparently a London street used by prostitutes was once called GropeEDITe Lane, later renamed Threadneedle street.
Things are likely to get worse with Americanization (arrrgh a Z) and TXT SPK! :D
lambert:
Throughout human recorded history the parental generation has despaired of the child generation and a perceived lack of moral fortitude. Such is the human condition and best we can do is adapt. After all they say to stagnate is to die.
Eeyore:

I find it funny that these words become acceptable to be used when you are discussing if they are acceptable.
Once saw something on tv where they were discussing the most taboo words that could be used on tv with all of them being uttered as many times as possible.
Yet if someone lets one slip out in any context in normal tv they are jumped on and denounced as being vile.
ooh... and i once burnt a page from a chemistry book in a lesson, with consent of the teacher as it contained the incorrect spelling of sulphur! :D
