crash bang

(1/7) > >>

adafish:
after a weekend of laning in the LAKE DISTRICT, I'd thought i'd ask you lot if any of you encounter the same sort of noises that i get...When doing serious rock crawlin, or heavy lanes and twisty stuff, my 110 DC (which has 3"lift, dislo cones front/rear) makes the noisiest glankin and boinkin going...should i grease the cones and lube up the rest of the hardware..?

zulublue:
IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SPRING RELOCATING TO ME,  THE ONE WAY TO STOP THIS IS TO SWAP TO REVERSE DISLOCATION CONES, AND HAVE THEM ON THE AXEL.

extreme90:
i rather like my rather loud klanking noise as springs re-locate, it amuses me somewhat as other look on in horror thinking something just broken  :P  :P
as zulu said tho, reverse-location cones are excellent and silent......then again so are jubilee clips  :P  :P

AbyssDJ:
ours dislocate as they would with reverse cones anyway :) could be due to the fact that the retaining plate bolts were mashed, so i smacked the crap out of it to get the coils off instead, and just chose to leave it like that :D need to make some cones up... makes a lovely BANG when the coils seat properly after coming back down slightly off,
