:D It does look like a stunning peice of kit. So im starting to save up for a good g.p.s package. N o point in getting a cheap set-up. I think looking at differant web-sites i think £500.00 will get me a complete kit ie= p.d.a with memory map software, cradle and cables + bluetooth plugin. :D Any suggestions would be nice as to where to bye from and which g.p.s set-up to get, theres so many to choose from... :?

muky, It all depends what you want from your kit, mine is mainly road based, as I do some serious mileage all over the north of england. That 2 month old defender currently has 7500 miles on it!!
For a kit similar to mine, a package should cost about £350, and I think the only things you will need to add, is the cradle that I was using, and a larger memory chip. I have a 256mb chips and store all the road maps for the UK.
What I'm currently looking at is the OS-Map side for greenlanes etc, I want a system, that I can go anywhere in the UK, without buying extra maps, and I want reasonable detail etc. I'm still waying up the options, so any advice on that side of things wil be most appreciated.

check out http://www.handtec.co.uk/ and http://www.totalpda.co.uk/ they always seem to be good on price.
A wired gps receiver will be much cheaper than a bluetooth one. If you go the bluetooth route your still going to have cables lying around to power the pda and the receiver, so why not just get the cabled version and save some money. I bought the hiacom 204s off ebay with cables and holder (acually handtec but cheaper :) )
If you want it for greenlaning then memory map is great, if you want sat nav with voice directions then you'll need tom tom which will guide you from a to b.
get a big memory card for it. especially if using tomtom. when using it for greenlaning you can you download a portion of the map you need to the pda so you won't need as much memory. I'd go for 256md or above, for memory try here http://www.valueflash.co.uk/
I run mine on an ipaq 5550 with a 256mb memory card, which holds tom tom maps for the UK and NI plus the map sections i use for greenlaning.
if you go the tomtom route also look at http://www.pocketgpsworld.com for plug ins for speed cameras - lpg stations  etc.
