pitted swivel?

(1/2) > >>

Mutz:
how bad before it would fail the MOT?

Or is any pitting a failure?

Or does it not make any difference?

Later would be great

L90OOK:
Pitting is not a failure...leaking grease or oil is  :-s
If you have oil in them & they are leaking try draining out & replacing with CV grease (one shot packs).
You can drain down the swivels before MOT, so they don't leak, clean the area, get it MOT'd & replace the swivels at your leisure...don't forget to put something back into swivel housing if not doing job straight away

Mutz:
Thanks for that, not sure if they are leaking but there is a damp area arond the swivel, not sure if it was too much wd40.
Have been told they are one shot swivels!! does that sound right?
The pitting is deep but only noticable now i have removed the radius arms and steering linkage, hadnt noticed it before.

minty:
check to see if the seal has ripped if so the mot will pick it up and remember to change seals when you get around to doing the swivel or it will just leek enyway and you will have to remove completely agian to fit new ones quite an easy job just takes a bit of time
