I will be ordering new discs and pads. For the sake of an extra few quid and some time sat in the rain it will be worth it to know that it is done properly (says he  )
I phoned my local motor factor and they said bring the old number plate in that has failed and they would do me a new one. When I pulled the offending plate off, the old plate with the LR emblem on was still there. Bit of cash saved there

so at a guess ur rear sun roof was electric , and if so do i have to start pulling the roof linings out to get mine to work ?

I haven't started on the front one yet so I can't comment on that. The rear sunroof is relatively easy (but fiddly) to get at by removing the trim piece that holds the headlining on.
The headlining will pull down to give enough access to undo the 14 bolts to remove the sunroof. I took the mechanism apart one side at a time in case I missed putting any parts back on reassembly
It took me about 4 hours to get the sunroof out, strip and clean the mechanism and put it all back together.
