Rear diff leak

(1/1)

Lincs niva:
Ok i have spotted a leak on my rear diff.Oil seal has gone by the look's of it.Now i cant order a seal until tuesday but i use my truck everyday.

Is there an addtive that i can put in with the oil to stop the leak for a few day's just until i can get a seal..

Cheers Gav

Range Rover Blues:
No I don't think so, it would stop the oil doing it's job if it did.  You'll have to keep topping it up.

Lincs niva:
Cheers for your reply RRB i shall keep topping it up :D

My mate does sell a Lucas oil to replace the EP90 in swivel hubs that cuts down the oil leakage, but I don't think it's an extreme pressure oil suitable for diffs, it's formulated for CVs and I use it rather than one-shot.

Unfortuantley the ability to leak is neccessary to make a good lubricant

I've found Thompson's driveseal ideal for giving my tarmac drive a makeover
