pajero winch mount
muddyjlx:
well i have had a go at making one today.
this is the first one.
it bolts on using the front bumper bolts and a long bolt just behind the bumper outriggers.
i tried the winch i had on it and if you have a winch with the solinoid on the top, it wont quite fit under the front. >:( >:( >:(
a normal winch with a seperate solinoid would just fit, but it would be close to the oil cooler.
so i then did this.
now this fits in exactly the same place and the winch will sit on it with clearance.
but with the fairlead sticks out 3 inches beyond the front of the stock bumper, roughly in line with the bumper bits that hols the washers.
what do you think.
bear in mind i have spent 5 hours in the shed making it and i am tired. hungry and dirty
Mutz:
From the pics, it looks like youve mounted your winch to the bumper brackets?
I looked at fitting mine there but was not sure if the flimsy mounts would take the strain of a Paj stuck in mud, just my thoughts, but i would mount it direct to the chasis.
Nice looking job your doing tho, wouldnt like to hear youd tried to pull something and the bumper and winch fell off.
Mudlark:
They are not just the bumper brackets they are the mounting points for the Mitsubishi PTO winch as well
Mutz:
Opps
Looked at pics before reading, just noticed youve bolted through chasis as well.
rollazuki:
Isnt the mitsi Pto winch only about 5000lbs rated.....!
Be careful, I tore the front bumper mounting eyes out of the chassis on my zook. They looked substantial, as do the mitsi ones, but double lining on a X6 superwinch pulled em straight out..
