FBF:
hi all. ive just bought a 110 and one of the front wheel bearings has caused the mot tester to fail it.

can anyone point me to a thread that covers changing it myself? ive used the search function but cant find anything.

maybe someone could run me through the steps quickly?

any help really appreciated and now this thread will become searchable for the next guy with this topic heading

tanks pow thats a great link.!   now then, is there something else rover call the wheel bearing?  ive opened a few of those manuals and wheel bearing search comes up blank.

You can just adjust the play.
my friends Disco had the same problem and we just adjusted the play.

Get the wheel off, Take off the black end cap, remove the circlip and shims, remove the 6 (i think its 6) bolts from the hub. You will then see the large nuts holding the bearings in. Bend the lock washer back to adjust the nuts.(2 of them to do) you will need the hub nut spanner. Paddocks do one for about £5. Dont do them up to much. I do mine up all the way then back off 1/4 turn.

You will need to get new gaskets and lock washers and if your going to get them I would get new bearings to because they dont cost much.

Good luck...if it's knackered, change it before this happens... It take hours & £££ to sort out!...
Cheers
