The whole used 4x4 market is in severe decline at the moment. The market has been swamped by people offloading their 4x4's because they either bought them as a status symbol and now every chav and chavette has one, or because of the adverse publicity has made them seem to be socially unacceptable. But the main reason is because they never take em offroad. Many car sales won't buy a 4x4 unless they already have a customer lined up.

I got this one a few weeks ago:



Late 1994 3.9 V8 ES with 80k on the clock, service history up to 73k miles, only done 8000 in 4 years.
For the MOT it needs/needed new discs & pads all round, rear tail pipe, electrics looking at (fix by replacing the fuses and one connector!!  :D ) both front brake callipers and both trailing arm bushes on the chassis end. Paid £950 for it.  :wink:

Stuff to do after the MOT:
Fix the split in the roof, small plate to weld to the top of the passenger side inner wing , rear sunroof motor, sunroof ECU and one switch.

if you get a grand for it you will be doing very well, last couple of discos ive sold were nightmare to get rid of, good condition with off road gear but still had to give them away.
dont know how they sell them for 2, 3, 4 grand but you look in any paper or auto trader etc, the same 300tdi's mileages, specs etc all very similar, some will be 995, some 4995, never made any sense to me

I have just paid 1700 for my v8 es on 100k on the clock full service history and all paper work with it. this is a 96 on a n reg i thought i paid over the odds but in great condtion thats way i paid that amount.

..give it a good look over, test drive etc, price up any work it will need, then barter from there!

beware with the disco, one which looks immaculate outside, may well be rotten where you cant see, check the usual places listed on another topic in here somewhere..  :wink:
