How do these mount? I assume spare wheel carrier or towball?  I need to be able to use the towball whilst carrying a bike........

Anyone got one spare?

I mate-in that case i would go for the one mounts on the spare wheel carrier and comes through the centre of the spare wheel,i have tried the ones that strap onto the tyre and to be honest didn't trust it at all and currently use the towball version but like yourself ocassionaly do tow so now looking at doing exactly this.Hope it helps cheers Andy.

You can also get the type that attaches to your tow bracket but still allows you to use the tow ball and not put any more weight on the rear door...  I had one of those - problem was that you had to hinge the bracket down when you wanted to open the rear door - only a problem if you had more than one bike fitted.  Im pretty sure that it was a LR original part?
