Difference bewteen a 90 & Defender?
Staffy:
Pretty new to the Land Rover scene so forgive my ignorance. I am thinking of getting rid of one of our Disco's and getting either a Hybrid or a 90.
But what is the difference between a 90 and a Defender? Besides the engines etc..?
Thanks
Phil
AbyssDJ:
basically - 90/110 was the early models, defender is the later models. on the front of an old one, you'll find "land rover 110", on a new one, you'll find "defender".
the older ones are usually 2.5 n/a or 3.5 v8 engines, where as the newer ones are usually 200tdi/300tdi/etc
in the older ones you'll generally find older looking interior trim, and also you'll usually find slidey windows on lift handle doors, as opposed to windy windows with push button doors... stuff like that.

Bit of a vague statement to use about 90/110 or Defenders, even the new 07 model is fitted with older looking interior trim.
AbyssDJ:
true, its a bit vague in the same way as saying really old people generally look older than regular old people....
the trim looks much older in an old 90/110 as opposed to a defender - for one, its all made of wierd material stuff. in the newer models, its moulded foamy stuff.
