Unbelievable

Lord Shagg-Pyle:
I was listening to Jeremy Vine's phone in on this matter, and was absolutely staggered by what I heard. I am not Ex-Military, but my eldest son served for a number of years, and to hear the reasons that these people who were Anti the idea were just crass.
None of them were prepared to talk on air (funny that!), but reasons included were, more congestion (?), more litter (??) and the place becoming a potential terror target!
Vine was not impressed with them at all, and a couple of people who called in got very short thrift from the pro callers.
To sum it up, basically the whingers were saying that they had worked long and hard for their homes in that area, and didn't feel that 'that sort of establishment' was appropriate'.
In other words, they probably want to return to the 1800's where all people who were not 'normal' should be locked away in workhouses.
Absoulute wasters, all of them! I hope that the values of their precious houses plummet. They are beneath contempt.

Indeed, one of the reasons against this house being available for families was that there would be too many vehicles trying to park there, but as JV pointed out; it's already a 7 bedroomed house, and if the occupants are all adults, well, there'd potentially be 7+ cars there anyway. Bl@@dy NIMBY's put em all up against a wall and shoot em!! (and then use THEIR houses too!!   )

Drift:
I heard that phone it to, and was outraged and very embarrassed that anyone could stake the stance those residents took over this facility.

Im sure I heard that permmision has been granted for the center :D

Let those residents get out of their cottonwool world and enter a war zone for a few months, then offer then no help.

Range Rover Blues:
I have the perfect solution, the gov't should just CPO the whole damn street, especially if they pay out the average cost of a suburban detached house rather than the amount those selfish <edit> paid originally.

I just cannot believe people can be so uncharitable, I'm disgusted.

graham78:
one question that should of been asked if it were sixty years ago and it was a different war, one that uniteed the counttry more than the one(s) that the current members are in would teh outcome be different, i bet they would of offered thier own homes,

not any personal views i am a serving member and seen some of the consequences of conflict...

ok the "war"/fight on terror may not be a popular one but these people are still the defenders of the crown and the land, some people say when we get injured we are lucky to have lived, but when you see what happened to us i would rather die,

for every death there is at least 4 to 6 people that are maimed or injured and have to relive the moment when they saw thier best mate die whilst trying to stop themselves bleed to death through the stump where a limb used to be and still protedct tehm and the area from the mobs/enemy...

living is not a nice place fter that, and to add insult to injury the government has only just recognised that the tours we do are an active factor in our lifestyles...  (different rant)

so they should be grateful that such heroic and proud people are so close...

i would like to stick them in the green suit and give them 24 hours of we go through

ttfn
