Thrasher:
Ah the sort of idiot that refuses to get out of the way when I pull up behind towing the caravan (at 60) - and REFUSES to pull over. I hate it. Nothing I can do - bar call the police on my handsfree kit and report him ;-)

Similar sort of thing but not with a caravan...

Going away for a week earlier in the year and was traveling up the M6 (jct 5ish) in the wifes Zafira towing our little 5x3 camping trailer sat behind a wagon doin 55. I was in the middle lane with traffic to my left (wagons) and speeding traffic to the right (overtaking lane not allowed in while towing) the wagon to my left decided he wanted to be where i was and started to indicate, of course i could not move over to allow him to take my place as i was towing, the abuse i got from the air horns and all his lights flashing when he tried to pull out close to the back of the car before realising i was towing was unreal! Some wagon drivers realy need a good kicking and be taught the high way code to a better standard than they are at the moment!

Cheers

Hobnailkelly:
I heard the Vine prog too.  Tha arrogance of some of the callers was unbelievable - as well as thier stupidity.
"I just put it in cruise control at 70mph; if anyone wants to pass me they have to use the overtaking lane.  Then they are breaking the law ..."
"The slow lane, the 'cruising' (?) lane and the overtaking lane ..."
"It's safer in the middle lane ..."
The ignorance, idiocy, pig-headed selfishness and plain shoddy standard of driving of these numpties is incomprehensible.
By the sound of the callers most were of 'pensionable age'; many of whom probably never even passed a driving test (and boy, does it show)

Re-tests for anyone over 65 (not a full test - just a check to see if the standard of driving has fallen below the accepted level and in extreme failures, a refresher course and full test) should be introduced - along with eye and reaction time tests.  IMHO

Re: Tailgating lorries.
By driving so close up each others backside they have no forward visibility save the back end of the truck in front is nearly as bad.  Unfortunately "Ye can'nae change the laws of physics ..."  The drag created by the vehicle in front enables the second vehicle to save fuel, wear on the engine and drivetrain etc.  You will NEVER get truckers to leave a sensible, safe gap while this applies.

And don't get me started on those foreign trucks.
They come over here loaded up with cheap fuel (extra tanks are common), driving badly or un-maintained trucks.  They sit on the wrong side of the cab so they cannot see smaller cars overtaking them.  They are lethal at roundabouts.  Drivers speak little or no English and who do not know the rules of the road in this country, let alone abide by them.  They commit countless offences but because they are not registered here it is almost impossible to trace or prosecute them.
And don't pay road tax!
They should all have to register at the port of entry, have vehicles checked thoroughly, pay £££s per mile, and leave a bond (£10,000 would be a good starting point) which would be returned if they stayed on the right side of the law.  And were not allowed to bring in more than 20 gallons of fuel.

Rant over.
