Hi there,

Ive a 1991 200tdi, and was wondering if it is possible to convert it to auto? Ive heard a few things like a zf 4speed auto will do it, others tell me that im better off converting to a 300tdi and auto box from a discovery.

Has anyone done this?
Can anyone offer suggestions or just throw some daylight on the matter?

You need the auto box from a 200tdi disco. Or an adaptor ring like the one fitted to mine. But mine is a 3 speed auto.

It is, best bet is to buy a Disco with one fitted so you get all the bits. I have seen them go for as little as £400 on ebay, when you can find them.
