If your getting problems with leaning off at wide throttle openings I would suggest that you either have a tune issue or the vaporiser simply isn't up to the job and that would be the cause of the valves burning. I've always run an omvl r90e vap, good for 300bhp.
The system on my current disco has been on there for 60k with no burnt valves etc.

My disco is now up for sale so hopefully have a V8 soon ish...
Hopefully already have a LPG conversion and the plan is to bobtail it anf fit at least 33" muds :)

No it's just one of the problems with draw through, unlike single point which has Lamda feedback a multipoint can not be tuned to match all load conditions, it's why people like Chris Perfect sell economisers for such systems but I'm not throwing any more money at this system now.
