Violent Front Wheel Shake between 38 - 50 mph

<< < (3/5) > >>

lee celtic:
I had the same thing at 42-55 mph and it turned out to be the drivers side joint on the track rod letting the wheels go out of track .when you put your foot down the wheels do this \  /  and cause the wobble.

Bulli:
steering damper will only be showing the problem not causing it.

wheel bearings, is there any play there? I know you have rebuilt the axles maybe they have settled and have some slack.

I have never done the internal balancing and understand how it would work but how did you arrive at 15oz ? even their chart which doesnt check anything and assumes it will be out of true...says 10 oz

i would have treid to balance it the traditional way and the cant balance bigger than 33's is rubbish. Maybe with dieyung tyres but youve fitted BFG's and mine are idnetical and are balanced fine.

I would be tempted to take the bb's out and try to get them balanced normally then go and shoot the numpty that gave you the advice with them

If you read the article you will notice that too many is better than not enough and that article doesn't take into account how heavy and out of balance 10x15 Mach 5 Beadlocking rims really are!?!?!

extreme90:
i still think swap tyres and see if its there

rollazuki:
are they the type of wheels where the outer bead isnt a bead, just 2 clamping plates?
If so, Im not really surprised, let em down, undo em and reseat em.
Theyre not construction and use legal are they?? Probably for some reason or other
