fitting snorkle to td5

--- Quote from: "SteveG" ---it's all well and good having water up to the bonnet height while moving, but if you hit a rock and have to stop and then you cab fills up to dash height, your ecu wouldn't be so resilient then.

The TD5 ECM is moderately splashproof if you seal up the breather holes on the base, but it's far from waterproof. Sealing seat box will help, but best thing to do is to extend it higher up.

Same goes for 10AS unit behind the dash.

Frankly, constant deep water wading will cause loom, instrument and other electrical problems eventually in all Defenders, so unless it's a plaything it's worth avoiding where possible.

It spent a lot of time in places like the strata florida and other deep puddles for extended periods without harm, but as you say its not waterproof - the door seals certainly leak!
