Highlander1:
While going for my MOT this morning a Range Rover driver stopped on in the middle of the road onthe single track just passed a passing place.

He started reversing into the passing place to let me passed rather than drive on the long grass! I went round him  before he could move must have been frightened to get the tyres dirty.

Bone dry verges with sand gravel no mud and a few tufts of grass.

dazliss:
I quite often meet an X5 driver who does the same, Still I don't blame him. A puddle in tescos carpark whould see an X5 stuck

agent006:
If there's a passing place, i won't use the grass either.  Same as greenlaning, use the lane and not the verges.

clbarclay:
Passing places?

In fact more of a suprise to me is that the driver of the expensive car reversed, round me the expect to to reverse even if you have a 4 wheel trailer (the sort with 2 pivots) behind a tractor.

At best round me you might get a gateway. The biggest problem with verges I find is the grips dug into the every so often to help drain the water off the road. What you think is a smoother verge and then the front wheel just drops into a deep hole.

Highlander1:
If you saw where I was you'd understand I hate lorries and things tearing deep gouges into the verge this was rock hard with a couple tufts of grass.
