A couple of questions?
Boddle:
25mpg round town
28mpg on motorways (@70mph)
Chipped & Alloy sport large intercooler and 285/75R16 tyres(although the may help)
being a Tomb-Raider it's even less aerodynamic than most defenders to.
age:
My TD5 with 125k is still around the 30 mpg mark as long as not caning it - seems to improve with age. Al the lack of friction with everything rattling loose I suspect.
T reg will probably need a head gasket sometime soon - if not already done. Plastic dowels allow the head to move, blow the gasket and pressurise coolant system, usually blowing it all out of the header. Catch it early - damaged head will be £900 for the parts.....
Usual LR experience - new starter, new wiper motor, new viscous fan, leaks everywhere, hinges and some panels corroding nicely, - love it!!
Alloys - my X reg 110 County came with Freestyles and no unusual load limits...?? Still going strong. Good luck!! Age

I'm running a 2002 td5 110 csw and mpg is around 29 same as most of you guys.I have had 87mph out of mine but i tend to stay below 70mph as i find that its more comfortable at that speed.
The storm 2 ecu is the better one which came out in 02 but talking to other onwers they seem to preform about the same.
Just make sure it's not a dog dressed up as you will need deep pockets if it is.
Good luck
Litch:
I am fairly certain that the comment about Freestyles not being load-rated for anything other than 90's or Disco's is correct. It isn't just a case of whether they fit but whether they are correctly load-rated, if they are not then you could find your insurance invalid in the event of a claim.
I believe Firestyles might be ok but not the genuine LR wheel.
