The Ant Hill Mob:
If there's enough room, I agree with the idea you have an area for those that want peace & quiet, and another for those that want to stay up till the wee small hours pickling their livers.  As a recent convert to caravanning (ask RRB what I said about caravans a few years ago when he broached the idea), I have to say that I find children the worst culprits.  I need my sleep, I have ME and when I've run out of steam, that's it, it's like a normal person running full tilt into a brick wall (literally).  Being woken up by little b*****rs running around screaming their heads off at 8am has REALLY put me off family sites, now I look for adults only / quiet ones.
However, I did borrow a caravan a few years ago for the wicked Whaddon weekend, and that was brilliantly organised, the BBQ area was well away from the caravans, and when I'd had enough, I turned in and left RRB and others having a few beers, BUT then again everyone seemed to be in a family group and there wasn't too much consumption of falling-down juice.
IF, however, that group had started a drunken rendition of ANYTHING, I would've asked them nicely to shut up, then super-soaker would've been out to cool their antics, and if that didn't work,  the headmistress's voice would've been used in conjunction with 2 large dogs.  Failing that there's always the frying-pan, can always get a good swing with that.
I'll join in a drink and catch-up with my mates anytime (think the ladies night I'm organising proves that), but please be aware that there may be others with small children or who are ill that want a bit of piece & quiet later on.

Children at 8:00am? If your still trying to sleep then, your are probably making up for the late night/early morning before so you don't get my simpthy. The simple answer is to get up and put the kettle on and wake up the rest of the campsite with the smell of bacon.

6:30 am is a different matter. Memmories of a group scout camp where one tent of scouts was intent on waking up county at metioned time resulted in one leader telling them to be quiet with the threat of the bowl full of water in her hands.

When asked why she shouldn't throw it over them, one fool replied "becuse you wouldn't dare" [-X  wrong answer. After a good soaking (which they had to clean up  ) they soon shut up.

The one thing most people awake at 2:am don't realise is just how well noise carries.

banditman:
Well, I am sufferring from a mixture of bewilderment at the initial post, upset at being asked to not attend and frustration at the feeling of being singled out...just for having fun...

why?

Because I am one of JW's crew that this seems to be aimed at, and yes, we like a party.....

As a family man, I also accept that when something is billed as a family event, some standards should be in place.....

Why then do I have to sheppard my daughter away from the beer tent area trying to avoid a full blown rendition of "Alice, Alice...who the f*** is Alice" from the beer tent...hardly a family song now is it ???

And why a little later on do I also have to suffer the embarassment myself of someone having a sex act carried out on them outside the beer tent between the toilets and the food stand in full view ????

Seems to me that If there were problems the year before with large groups causing problems, this should have been sorted by segregating at booking stage not causing it all over again.....

(Neil, weren't you there the year before with your new Rangie and a little tent...I don't remember any Mud Club nuisances at all?!)

I don't remember a post prior to last year either asking thieving gits stealing generators not to attend and we were very close to where all that kicked off....theft / voilence / Police.....yes real threats !!

We were a large bunch of volunteers willing to give up mucho time to help out this year given the cry for help from YLRO, but as it now appears we are not welcome, seems this will no longer be the case.

I am Muck's partner and i don't see why i and my two daughters should have to witness one of your memebers relieving himself against the sandwich board outside the entrance to the beer tent and then being so far gone as to fall on the floor in front of me. This was the year before last, no-one said Mud club caused the trouble last year.

The complaint we received concerned drunken, abusive, racist, threatening, aggressive behaviour and foul language. We do not know who these guys were but campers should not have to put up with that.

Nobody minds people sitting out having a chat and a drink with friends, we do it ourselves frequently but we do not bother anyone else.

If having had a skinful the night before should you really be driving the off road course the following day?

Seperate areas for partying and sleeping in theory is a good idea we do not really have the room to provide this, although it doesn't alter the above point.

The number of volunteers every year gets less. we put in more and more hours. Firstly we really don't need the hassle of other peoples bad behaviour and secondly so many of us will get so fed up that there will be no event. After nearly 25 years running this would be a great shame.

It is always a few who spoil it for the many!!!

Jim-Willy:
That wasn't my lot i'm glad to say........  Nobody is underestimating the work you put in to make the event happen 8)
