muckmoses:
As you can see from my Sig I am the booking sec for Langley Farm 4x4.
Recently We started receiving booking forms back. One of these forms had a letter explaining that they had been coming to LF for many years but after the rowdy party that was camped next to them they no longer felt safe at the event.
I do not know who the people were as we only found out about the insident AFTER it had happened, but this is the second year this has happened. The first time it was caused by Mud Club members, who I will not name but you can search the forum and you will see them bragging about how they got so drunk they fell under tables and stayed there.
So if you want to come to Langley Farm 4x4 and have a good time, drive the off road course and trawl the trade stands and auto jumbles please come along (see events and meetings section)
But if all you intend to do is get drunk fall over and cause trouble please go to Peterborough :?

I have never been either BUT what was it about a roudy crowd that mad them feel UNSAFE?????
some people getting drunk and falling asleep is hardly scary!
Edge:
Your going to get folk drinking at any event where they can camp overnight. You could ban all alcohol... but then i guess not many would turn up (so not really financially sound idea for yourselves).
Ideally you should organise separate areas.... 1 for a quiet nights kip & 1 for an all night party. Both will be happy then. (saying that, i dont know how big an area you have to play with).

I've never been to Langley Farm, but I have to say that it sounds as if some people don't know how to party!! As far as I'm concerned, weekend campouts/shows are all about working hard and partying even harder  (yes, I work at 'em too!!) some kill-joys had a gripe at a few of us at Billing last year for still being awake and cheerful ;) at 2 am on Saturday night; yeah, it was ONLY 2 am!! - for many of us, these meets are an opportunity to catch up with peeps we don't see at any other time of the year- I wouldn't be too concerned about the one complaint; they'd probably be happier at a ramblers camp, drinking cocoa and turning in at 9 after a quick chorus of 'Kum-byaa'
