New Seats

Range Rover Blues:
Was it one of you two who asked me about a set of seats?

If you are waiting for me to reply then I'm sorry, my PC crashed terminally, this is a new(er) one and I have lost all my e-mails.

Skibum346:
I saw an add in one of the mags for a firm that recovers seats. They advertised fitting RRC seats in a disco.... dunno whether it's a 3 door or a 5 door version though as I promptly lost the add and forgot the name!

So far I've removed one of my existing seats with its base and found that a Discovery seat base is far smaller than a Range Rovers. Not a problem though I just need to fabricate a frame to join the both halves together. Think I'll take some photos along the way so that I can help others afterwards.

Ralph Hardwick:
Hi

I just posted this on another thead :?

Anyhoo

I recently fitted RR seats to my disco.  There is a full write up with photos here:

I was originally going to fit electrics but couldn't be bothered.  The fitting would be the same (apart from the wiring of course :D )

Hope this helps

andygod:
Fitted my new leather seats yesterday  . Back seats were a straight swap, the only problem being that all 8 bolts snapped and I had to drill & re tap the lot  . Front seats were fairly easy I just had to fabricate an adaptor plate to join the old Disco base to the R.R seat. Because the R.R seats are electric I had to raise the seat base by about 1 1/2" to clear the seats electric motors. This has raised the overall seat height but I think that I can live with that    .
