Noisey ECU

Never owned a Jeep before but have newly aquired a 1998 cherokee sport 2.5 deisel .On starting i think its the ECU starts making weird and strange noises,whinning and wizzing away,doesnt affect the running in anyway,this then goes when driving but when stopped it  comes back,can anyone tell me what this could be.Cheers

Mine has allways done the same...... Kinda like a whiring or whining. Never let it bother me though.
