changing all the oils today, engine, gear box and diffs, hoping the electrics are going to dry out soon as dont fancy driving it too far with it doing all sorts of weird things!Really sorry to hear about yours i was gutted when I did mine

when I drove mine through a deep ford the electrics, mainly with the heater were playing up for months afterwards. Stick a fan heater in the cab to help speed the drying process out.
You are a lucky swine!! :D

it mite be running but i bet youve got a bent rod
infact ill put money onit
and yes they will still run and sometimes you wont even no that theres a bent rod until it overheats and you take the head off to descover 1 piston lower than the other
a locked diesel always bends something due to the compression of the engine
spinkster:
yup....i thought i'd been lucky when i did mine....i fitted the new turbo and started her up....all was fine until i revved it and had the ominous rumbling from the bottom end.......turned out the crank journals were scored like a ploughed field the big ends were shot and all 4 con rods were slightly misshapen!!! 1 new engine later and things are looking a bit better! I just have to fit the damn thing now!
3laner:
no weird noises from mine.....yet!is overheating the only way to tell of any damage?
