Opinions...... Which do you prefer?

The Landy Guy:
looks pretty cool but with not much of the rear open seems a bit pointless!

Range Rover Blues:
I've seen on on here somewhere that used the normal truck cab like yours but made it about 8" longer with a window behind the door, looked cool.  Though if pushed I'd rather have a hard top or a soft top, keep the pooches in and the back end covered.

The Landy Guy:
yeah

boss:
theres a good "kingcab" on the scorpion racing website, im making a fitted treadplate box to go in the truck bed for mine out of 7mm thick alli, should be good enough to stop stuff getting nicked! that king cab stuff is too much work for what its worth, i would say if you were doing alot of off-road driving go with the truck as theres less body work to damage but if not go for the hard top. also in a hard top all the recovery gear you have is in the same place as you, so if you were to take a tumble in your series you could end up with a hilift jack in your face.

TBM:
I'm currently in the process of making a small 'kingcab' that lifts off quickly and stores on the back giving me the option of going 'topless' and folding the screen down.

I've just finished shortening the sides of 88" roof, down to about 15" behind the doors. I'll be fitting a new bulkhead cross member later in the week, then can set about shortening the roof. Ultimately I'll be fitting a pair of windows in the sides (I'll use the same LR ones as they have in the back as I don't fancy paying £80 for some I've seen on websites)

Found the soft tops (full 109 first and then an bikini/fume curtain arrangement) a right pain in the arse to take off and on, and by the time I'd undone clips, ropes and unhooked the front I'd invariably lost all the sun. It was even more difficult to get back on and there were always holes, gaps and clips I'd missed everytime I tried. My 'kingcab' will give me a bit more warmth and security, and by undoing a few toggle catches will enable me to enjoy the summer (!) without all the associated soft top pipe work getting in the way!
