ade666:
hi all. anyone going to the baja gb this year. also does anyone in the club do comp safari. i co drive in a rally car and would love to try proper off road driving at speed sitting in the idiot seat

Henry Webster:
I do the hillrallies and we are planning to compete on the Baja GB this year.

There are a few others who do comp safaris around these parts two.  Eeyore and Wolfie started last year, but haven't been out yet this year.

Mikee - Xtremeteam used to drive comps too.

If I get round to doing a comp this year you'd be welcome to have a go in the hot seat, but I don't know whether I'll be able to afford it on top of the Hillrally series and the Baja.

I've done a fair bit of rallying too (mainly road events) and I service for an equally Friesian Peugeot 205 tarmac rally car.

Xtremeteam:
first lap of a comp decides if you want to do it again or not,
Did comps in a road going V8 90 for 2 years & finished reasonably high up in the championship,

one event i always wanted to do was the schottish hillrally but never got there to compete,
although did do the legend at 3/4 pace after i finished marshaling though

Xtremeteam:
No laughing but i found some previous threads about when i was competing with the 90

Aww, happy memories Mikee!  8)

Henry - good on you for entering - give us a 'moo' on the way round!  :D

Myself and Wolfie will be at the Baja - sadly not competing but in an official capacity instead. Not sure what offical capacity but we await and see! Last year we were a fire-support car. They felt that if someone was going to have belt through the forest carrying extinguishers, what better to use than a pick-up racer! Sweeet! Thankfully our services weren't needed and we spent an a quiet required brewing up, watching bikes quads and cars and getting defecated on by owls.

We did the British Championship last year and it was certainly the time of my life. When finances get back on track I'm sure we will be back on the track again - it's hard work watching these other divils enjoy themselves!

As for the ballast seat in our car - hard luck - it's mine!

Oh yeah - Mikee ain't wrong - one lap will tell you your hooked. Hurtin', but hooked!

Cheers
