EGR blanked already?

<< < (4/4)

There is often a plate fitted with a gasket either side as they come from the factory - but it has a hole in it - that is the earlier pattern of gasket/plate/valve arrangement.  the later gasket is thicker than standard but the metal bit is only in the centre around the hole so its not that as its too thick.

Unfortunately, it could be either, an old style arrangement with a stiffening plate, (I've actually recycled mine and used it just that - it sits above the blanking plate as my valve is removed, this gives the plate a bit more strength and will help to stop it bowing out under pressure and leaking....),  for want of a better description, or it could also be a blanking plate - the only sure way to tell is to take it off and have a gander at it...........

Hmmm! Guess I am still taking it off then.

Off on hols for a couple of weeks I'll do it when I get back.

Anybody else unsure take it off and let us know what you got. I reckon its blanked.
