This isn't good either !!!
« on: June 11, 2007, 10:55:48 »
While idling my 200 Tdi engine is blowing air back up the air filter.
Its not a major amount but its noticable.
My thoughts are either worn valve stem seals or a worn valve.
The old truck does let of a bit of white smoke on start up but its clear once the engine warms up.

Any ideas before i start pulling the engine apart .

is this a post you made before you realised your key way etc was worn? My guess if it isnt will be, as the  key way has worn etc it will have put the timing out slightly. Had this on my disco and it blew out clouds (literaly)of white smoke until warm and wouldnt go above 4mph when cold. Very embarassing sat in my mates uni carpark making cliuds of smoke!
