Nice neat job that mate, how much did the winch and kit etc. cost, I am looking at getting one nearer Christmas, I don't want the big hefty winch bumper on so what you have done looks a good solution (just need somewhere to put ur number plate now  )

Telaren:
Hi Chris

The winch including wireless remote came to about £210

The mounting plate cost £20 for the steel plate and a length of angle

I made the mount myself as I did not want a large sticking out winch bumper.

As for the number plate :-

If you want my details please let me know.

Stripped down the CV unit this morning.

Found everything to be OK.  :?

Cleaned everything and re-greased / oiled

Rebuilt and went for a test run.

Everything now seems OK.

Landies - A marvel of mechanical engineering.

is a standard bumper strong enough to take a winch? I would have thought it would just bend and buckle when put under strain? I know they are rated to 100kg so fitting a tow bar is no probs for manouvering a trailer / caravan around.
