fuel problem 200tdi conversion
diggerdog36:
   Couldnt see the woods for the trees!!!
1. Open the bleed screw
2. Pump like mad, until fuel comes out
3. Close Screw
4. Start Engine
5. Grab Cuppa
Is this correct??
If so, how long do I pump and why is there no fuel coming out when I took the filter off and pumped??
extreme90:
so there was no fuel coming out when pumped ?
try cranking the engine over by the key and see if fuel comes out, as you need the lift pump in a certain place to operate cos of it being cam driven, if the primer felt slack with no resistance then you need to turn the engine over abit
if no joy, ill go out and get some pics of my 90 tomorrow for you as currently so wouldnt be able to make anything out under the bonnet as i aint washed it off after weekends comp yet
dan
diggerdog36:
Please Dan, that will be helpful. The lever did feel a little slack. Im going to undo the fuel pipe that goes to the filter at the pump to see if there is fuel coming straight out the lift pump, if not, then I will check the line to the pump, but a few pics of the route will be great.
Cheers
Neil
