Steering lock stops
SWEETY:
My steering lock stops are worn out on my Terrano II (bit like me realy)
I know they don't cost that much but are they easy to do ?
How do they come off ? It's just that there is quiet a bit of rust on all nut & bolts around the hubs
Jonathan M:
Very easy!!
Remove the road wheel, lever off the old cap with a screwdriver, put new ones on. Slap some grease onto the stops on the wishbone part, and you are sorted.
www.nissan4x4ownersclub.co.uk has lots of workshop downloads for the Terrano.
SWEETY:
Cheers for that :D going to go & order a set, the grinding on full lock is starting to do my head in now
Jonathan M:
I just live with it!! Can't hear it when the stereo is turned up!!

Me too, the grease doesn't seem to last two minutes off road, sure its good for a year or more on the tarmac. It's not good for your power steering to be holding it hard against the stops anyway, full lock and then relax, allow them to just pop off the stop.
