you mean air scoops or a snorkel? air scoops arent required for a series, and you'd need to buy defender ones.

Series snorkels are usually homemade with guttering and flexi pipe, and a lot of silicon etc. but you can buy a "Universal" one that "Will fit" from Mantec for about £70-£80. snorkels on Series 3's require some modification to stuff in your engine bay. ask someone who has a series 3 snorkel.

as promised heres some pics of my engine bay

not sure how much help this will be as you said you were going to have to fit the engine 4 inches further forward. i think that means you will have to alter the front chassis cross member to clear, and also mount the rad and intercooler some other way.

while you are at it, you may as well move the crossmember forward a lot and fit PAS from a defender too.

Cheers for the pictures Ian....

Actually have had a slight change in plans (after talking to the bloke who designed my series transfer box adaptor kit) the engine is staying the standard place, but instead the gearbox and transfer box is being moved back.  This does mean that the rear prop will be a custom affair (front has an adaptor) but if you move the engine forward, under max articulation there is a possibilty of the axle touching the harmonic damper pulley. Also means no mods to the chassis - i.e. the engine/gearbox locations.

Don't give Johnathan ideas about PAS!!
Hopefully he doesn't want it as it would be something else to go wrong... plus properly set-up I don't find the steering set-up that bad or heavy on a Series.

Galv tanks...

Tank guards...

PAS...

Guess what Ian?

Only kidding!!  Galv tanks/guards may be worth looking at - though we had considered stainless tanks (f&$cking expensive) - they would have to wait until phase 2 - ie after I have sold the wife/dog etc..  8)

IMHO PAS is for girls  :P  (ducking now)

The steering on my little truck is spot on - and it feels right - ie a bit of effort = good.  TBH if i wanted PAS/coils I would have gone for a 90 - I obviously just enjoy the ?pain?

ian_s - many thanks for the pics.

[/b]Keep the comments coming folks

Johnathan
