hi does nebody know a good way of fitting a cb aerial to my 5 door with no sunroof and are they easy to wire in also nebody know of ne good places to go offroad in or around cleveland/north yorkshire thanx

Depending on the size of the CB unit, several in the Freelander Club have fitted their's above the heater vents, and I know one who had his in the panel between the passenger airbag and the glove box.
Aerials are more difficult, but most seem to use mag mounts, with the cable either around the rear door or side door.

Mounting an arial is not the easiest thing on a freebie if you don't have a rack you can mount to.

As Graham has said - quite a lot use a mag mount, but I will be making one like the pic soon so I can have a permanent fixture.

Lanes around Yorks??
We've (MAD FL) just had a full week-end around N Yorks lanes and had a great time.
2nd pic below shows another mount for an arial (if you want to drill the car  :shock: )

I'm just waiting to collect my Freelander, but have had a hand held CB unit for the Defender for a while, and intend to continue using that in the Freelander.
It's great for shortish (i.e. well spaced convoy) distances, and if you need to transmit further then you just have to get out of the vehicle.

Saves worrying about an aerial straight away... I've got a gutter mount aerial for it, which can easily be removed, but is more secure than a magmount. Not worrying about fitting it just yet though - I'll wait and see how good (or otherwise) the handheld one is!
