Can a TD5 be run on SVO? I was thinking of running a 50:50 mix of SVO and Diesel. Or is it a case of modifying the fuel system?

i would do some research first as if i remember its not recommended i dont think the system is compatible

I wouldnt, direct inj engines(I believe the td5 is direct aint it?) run too high a pressure for the veg oil and it seperates, and you bung everything up.
DONT run it Id say unless you can afford to be the MUD CLUB guinnea pig for the TD5 motor!

I have been looking into running my 300TDI on a mix without any alteration's, and from what i have read, and as mentioned here, this is not a good idea on direct injection engines ??

This does confuse me however, as its OK to go the whole hog and and run on pure oil (no mix) with the pre heating etc and separate tank ??

How can the direct injection be an issue with mixed (thinner) oil but not with non mixed (pre heated so thinner again) oil ??

I dunno, i am just confused now, sorry to take a bit off topic  :oops:
