EBC Discs and pads

(1/2) > >>

Jonny Boaterboy:
I have just fitted some new EBC dotted and grooved discs, and Green stuff 6000 series pads...... I have a strange "ticking" type of noise when the brakes are applied which I think is only coming from the near side, and get slightly worse as the pads get warmer. I have tried rotating the discs on the hub but still have the noise...... has anyone got any ideas as to whether this is normal? if it is why is it coming from one side only? will it wreck the new discs by wearing a flat spot throwing the balance out causing vibration? I know you get some noise but it doesn't sound like the noise you should get!
There on the rear if that makes any difference

Thanks all

Range Rover Blues:
Mine do that too, glad it's not just me then.
Mine overheated like hell when I fitted them as they were a tight sqeeze into the calliper

Stops though :D

Jonny Boaterboy:
Hey there Mr blues, glad you had the same noise as me seems to be getting louder at the moment but every thing seems ok so will hang in there!

Anyway..... I have finally got round to sending you that info on the air suspension....... well I have found the link so you can read and print it off!

it helped me loads.

Thanks again for your help Mr Blues

Jonny

ian_s:
you got groved disks? i think the ticking you hear is the when the groves hit the pads
it should stop eventually as everything gets bedded in properly.

i wonder if they do greenstuff shoes for a series3......

Jonny Boaterboy:
Hey there Ian_s I think your right they have started to quiten down now, which Im pleased about as I have other knocking noises to sort out!

thanks mate

Jonny
